The estimated number of the executed by the francoists is 200,000, mostly civilians (S.JuliĆ”, “Victimas de la Guerra Civil”, Planeta, Barcelona, 2005) Researchers for the mapping of mass graves programme in Andalucia estimate over 648 sites and 53,000 victims in that region alone.
